Streets, Beats, & Eats

by Sasha Savinov June 4, 2015
3-In the Show

When we travel, we’re always looking for three things – a cool spot to hang out, delicious food, and places to party and rock out to live music. As such, we decided to start our own online mini-series focused on these aspects of travel. Titled “Streets, Beats & Eats,” each episode spotlights a different city or town. From the madness of Beijing’s Sanlitun district, to the famous Sunset Strip in Hollywood, to traditional Indonesian tunes in Yogyakarta, we’re exploring the best places to get some culture, enjoy a good meal, and dance the night away.

Thailand

We love Thailand, and so should you! Rage on the infamous Khao San Road in Bangkok. Douse yourself in day-glo and join the lunacy at the Full Moon Party. Dig into some delicious Thai cuisine and dance the night away in Chiang Mai. We’ve got a bunch of episodes on this amazing country, so dive right in.

Indonesia

Indonesia is a fascinating archipelago nation made up of thousands of islands. From the big cities of Java, to the sandy beaches of Bali, to the paradisiacal Gili Islands, explore this incredible country with us.

Far East

Party like a rockstar in Beijing and get down to Chinese reggae. Feast on beer fish, take in an epic performance on a river in Yangshuo and then hit the West Street for late-night fun. Take in the culture of Green Lake park and check out all the great live music that Kunming has to offer. See a different side of China, as well as Seoul, in these videos.

Vietnam

We spent 10 of our 30 days in Vietnam in the country’s two biggest cities – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Check out some great markets full of tasty Vietnamese food, cool bars with live music, and even a traditional water puppet show.

USA! USA! USA!

While we love exploring other cultures, trying new foods and checking out traditional music, nothing beats the live music experience back in the good ole’ USA. After all, we did meet at a music festival and get engaged at a Phish concert in America. If you’re looking for cool places to hang out, tasty food, and live music in American cities, you’ve come to the right place.

Since you’re in the mood to rock out now, you might as well go ahead and check out our pages about concerts and music festivals.
