One thing all digital nomads have in common is that we’re always looking for cool places with fast WiFi (and preferably good coffee) to hang out and get some work done. We’ve been living in Puerto Vallarta on and off since February 2017 so we’ve checked out several different spots around town. This is our list of the best cafes and coworking spaces in Puerto Vallarta.

Most people only think of cruisers, spring breakers, and retirees when someone mentions Puerto Vallarta but there is a growing digital nomad scene here and the infrastructure is always improving. So if you find yourself needing to get some work done while you’re here, these are some of the best places we’ve found to do just that. The list is organized based on the neighborhood starting in the Romantic Zone and heading north.

We’ve had a lot of fun seeking these places out in hopes it can save you some time.

Located in the heart of Zona Romantica, El Sofa is a really awesome cafe with a friendly owner, decorated with amazing art. The only downsides to this cafe are that they only have a few plugs and the tables and chairs are a bit small. It’s not a place to spend an entire afternoon but it’s great for doing some light work done while enjoying their special of the week.

They have chocolate cooking classes and a variety of other activities. There is a coffee shop on the third floor overlooking the Malecon and ocean. Vallarta Cowork

Vallarta Cowork best coworking spaces in puerto vallarta

Surrounded by natural light and beauty at Vallarta Cowork

Located right on the Rio Cuale where Centro meets Zona Romantica, Vallarta Cowork has everything you need in a coworking space – a telephone booth, meeting room, plenty of seating, and lots of natural light. The floor to ceiling windows and ocean view remind you that yes, you are in fact working in paradise.

It also boasts an incredible community. I’ve made several new digital nomad friends and gotten invaluable advice thanks to this coworking space. They regularly host events and weekly meetups. I highly recommend joining one of them even if you don’t join the coworking space!

Cowork Natureza

Merida 75d | Cowork Natureza website

We haven’t actually been to this coworking space but I wanted to include it in the post to provide options. Cowork Natureza is located in Versalles so it’s perfect if you’re staying in the Hotel Zone or farther north than the downtown area.

They have meeting rooms, common areas, and dedicated desks. It’s possible to use projectors and large monitors if you need them. There is controlled access for monthly members plus your membership will get you a discount in the attached cafeteria. No need to leave to find lunch! Although, I will say the neighborhood of Versalles is full of incredible food options.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve enjoyed our list of the best cafes and coworking spaces in Puerto Vallarta! It can be hard for digital nomads to find a good place to work. Sasha and I have spent lots of time scouring the city to find these cafes so you can quickly figure out where you’re going and get shit done.

As you can see, there is no shortage of places to pull up a chair, grab a cup of Joe, and be productive.

This list just barely scratches the surface of cool cafes in Puerto Vallarta and I will add to it as we visit more.

Is there a cafe that you’ve found that you think should be included here? Leave me a comment and tell me all about it or shoot us an email.

I hope this has helped you save time finding a place to work in this wonderful paradise we’re fortunate enough to call our part-time home 🙂

There’s always something going on around Puerto Vallarta. Check out some of our other posts for inspiration:

Cheers!
